A brain injury doesn’t just affect one person, it impacts partners, children, siblings, parents and loved ones, all of whom may need support at some stage. Our services support individuals at every step of the brain injury journey – from immediate hospital visits to helping them rebuild lives in the community.
- Immediate crisis support – Guidance and reassurance during the early stages of brain injury.
- Hospital and discharge support – Assistance before and during the transition from hospital to home.
- Early recovery and rehabilitation – Helping individuals and families adjust to life after discharge.
- Long-term and ongoing support – Continued guidance, advice, and community integration as needed.

What services are provided?
We provide a range of practical support, including:
Crisis Support Service
If your loved one is in hospital, Headway Bristol’s Hospital Navigators can support you with a range of free emotional and practical support and guidance.

Carers Support Service
We offer a variety of services for carers, free of charge. Services can be accessed as much as needed, and carers can dip in and out as their needs change.

Outreach One-to-one Support
An outreach worker, skilled and experienced in working with individuals with a brain injury, supports with agreed rehabilitation goals on a one-to-one basis.

Reablement and Well-being Centres
Our reablement and well-being centres are safe and supportive environments, helping individuals to practice or re-learn skills affected by a brain injury.

Social Hub
Our Social Hub is open to all individuals with brain injury, helping them connect and socialise in a safe, relaxed environment. You don’t need to be a Headway service user to attend.

We also run a monthly Care and Connect group, open to anyone affected by brain injury (including carers). It takes place on the second Tuesday of the month, 7pm–9pm at the Wellspring Settlement (in the same building as the Wellspring Surgery). This is at Beam Street, Barton Hill, Bristol, BS5 9QY.
