Donations and fundraising

Headway Bristol is a charity providing tailored support for adults with brain injuries, as well as respite and guidance for their families and carers.

Our services include centre-based rehabilitation, group programmes and one-to-one outreach support – all designed to promote independence, self-esteem and overall well-being. We need to raise around £75,000 each year to continue our services, expand existing provision and pilot new initiatives.

Headway Bristol could not operate without the generous support of our fundraisers, donors and volunteers, to whom we are so grateful. Every single pledge of support you give, every penny and item you donate is invaluable to us and the people that we support. Find out how to donate, raise funds, buy merchandise or provide materials for our sessions. Or why not consider volunteering?

We are grateful to our current donors:

We The Curious, an educational charity and a leading UK science centre, has kindly opened its doors to allow free entry for service users at Headway Bristol.

We can’t wait to visit and explore all the exhibits, experiments, creative activities and interactive shows. Keep an eye on our news section (or follow us on Facebook) for photos of us flying through space, turning ourselves invisible and climbing inside giant bubbles.

You can read more about what We The Curious is all about on their website.

Bird and Blend Tea Co. have donated some delicious products, allowing our service users to do a special tea-tasing activity.

You can read more about Bird and Blend’s charitable efforts on their website.

We are also incredibly grateful to individual donors. Their contributions let us fund trips and buy resources for sessions with those impacted by brain injury. Every penny really does count.

Thank you.

Fundraising

Great Western Chapter are longstanding sponsors of Headway Bristol, and continue to donate

Support us by organising your own fundraising event or joining in with one of ours. There are plenty of ways to get your school, community group, family and friends involved:

  • Host a social event such as a ball or dinner dance
  • Hold a golf day at your local club
  • Organise a table top sale at your village hall or community centre
  • Organise a fashion show or concert and charge for admission
  • Hold a pub quiz, race night or coffee morning
  • Organise a BBQ, Family Fun Day, and/or raffle
  • Bake cakes or biscuits and hold a sale, or sell them to family, friends and colleagues
  • Run, walk, cycle or swim at one of the many organised events in the area

We can offer you support for your event and provide sponsorship forms, posters, flyers, collecting tins and anything else you need to make your event a success.

It’s simple (and completely free) to set up a fundraising page on JustGiving. It only takes a minute to get up and running. You can write out your personal fundraising story, add photos and even video and colour to your page. Best of all, it’s all incredibly simple to do. It’s an easy way to collect your sponsor money, and will increase the amount that you raise for Headway Bristol as Gift Aid is added to your donors contributions automatically.

Merchandise

We have merchandise available, including “Friends of Headway Bristol (FOHB)” hoodies, mugs, pens and trolley coins.

Donate materials for our sessions

Headway is seeking craft items (including paper, pens and printing materials), games to support cognitive rehabilitation and enabling technology. If you’re able to provide any of these, please speak to Millie Holcombe, our Activity Coordinator at [email protected].
