What I do
I support Mari, the Chief Executive Officer at Headway Bristol, and all staff to help ensure the interests and priorities of the charity are promoted and protected. As part of this, I attend trustee meetings, help take decisions about managing charity resources and promote accountability.
My skills and experience
I am a solicitor specialising in representing children and adults who have suffered a brain injury. I have extensive experience in obtaining substantial interim payments to fund treatment, rehabilitation and other professional support for my clients, as well as securing adapted accommodation and specialist equipment where this is needed. I lead a team of specialist serious injury lawyers at Irwin Mitchell in Bristol.
I studied for a law degree at Cardiff University and since finishing my legal training I’ve been a solicitor for over 25 years.
Why I chose Headway
So many of my clients have benefited hugely from the specialist support offered by Headway Bristol. Having seen that up close, it was the natural choice for me to get more involved.
