Recognising the value of care. We mark Carers Week 2025

It’s Carers Week in the UK, a moment to recognise the value of care, especially efforts of those who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend with an illness or disability. The week raises awareness of caring, highlighting the impact unpaid carers have, alongside the challenges they face.

Here at Headway Bristol, we meet many amazing, inspirational people who go above and beyond to help others, ensuring the get the care they need and deserve. We know how hard carers work, and that they sometimes struggle to give the same level of attention to their own wellbeing. If you care for someone with a brain injury, or know someone who does, be sure to check out Headway Bristol’s free carers service.

Visit our Carers support page to learn more about the variety of free services and events Headway Bristol provides. These include crisis advice and support, information and resources, one-to-one support (both in person and over the telephone), support with independent living and monthly drop-in groups.
