Headway Bristol welcomes Great Western Chapter’s kind donations

The Harley Owners Group has sponsored Headway Bristol since 2019, and our service users have benefitted hugely from their charitable donations of time and money.

Headway Bristol CEO Mari Holcombe said:

“The support Headway Bristol has received from GWC has been invaluable. People who have experienced brain injuries find their lives turned upside down and can struggle to enjoy the experiences and activities that used to be second nature. Gifts such as those from the GWC really do change lives, and the charity is sincerely grateful.”

Director of the Great Western Chapter, Andy Kendall, added that the group has really enjoyed supporting us – coming to Headway events and meeting our service users to see first-hand to see the impact their donations have had.

Thanks to the Great Western Chapter, those attending Headway Bristol’s Reablement & Well-being Centres have been able to cook healthy and tasty meals with gifted appliances such as air fryers. The chapter also provided accessibility technology, allowing services users with reading difficulties, including those caused by brain injuries, to engage with written text. A final donation, received in June 2025, will enable service users to go on a series of trips to places that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach.

The Great Western Chapter has a strong fundraising tradition, raising over £60,000 for various charitable causes over the past 18 years. We hope they’ll visit us again in the future to hear more from our service users about the amazing experiences they’ve enabled.

If you can support the work Headway Bristol does, we’d love to hear from you. We’re seeking organisations and individuals able to provide their time, expertise, materials and funds so we can continue to support those affected by brain injury.
