At Headway Bristol, we know that the creative arts play a vital role in the long-term rehabilitation of those living with brain injuries. This month, the centre’s art sessions have taken on a festive focus as service users begin developing original designs for the Headway Annual Christmas Card Competition 2026.

The competition is a national highlight for the Headway network, inviting brain injury survivors, their families and carers to submit artwork that could be featured in the charity’s official festive collection.
Winners of the competition receive a framed keepsake of their artwork and see their designs sold across the UK to raise essential funds for brain injury services.

How to enter
The search for fresh, festive designs for the 2026 collection is currently open to the entire Headway community, including survivors and their support networks.
- Submission deadline: All original designs must be submitted by 29 March 2026.
- What to submit: Original artwork featuring festive or wintry scenes. Previous winning entries have included watercolours of Santa and his reindeer or traditional nativity scenes. What will you create?
- Entry method: Submission details and full terms and conditions can be found on the Headway UK website.
- Prizes: Three winners will have their designs featured in the 2026 card collection, receive a framed copy of their work, and have their story shared in Headway News Magazine.
By entering, participants help raise awareness and vital funds that allow Headway to continue providing information and support services to those affected by brain injury across the UK.
While it might feel a little early to start talking about Christmas, there’s not long left to get your entries in!
