Our volunteers are important members of the Headway family and we are extremely grateful for their support.
As a volunteer, you will receive appropriate training and support to confidently deliver in your role. All we ask for in return, is your commitment, reliability and friendly face!
Activity Support Volunteers
We welcome interest from caring, understanding people who would like to help survivors of brain injuries to regain their confidence and skills.
As a volunteer in our Reablement & Wellbeing Centre, you will provide support in a team to help run various outings and activities. This may range from health walks and gardening in our very own private garden, to cooking, music and arts & crafts therapies. If you have a skill or talent that you’d like to share, then we’ll encourage you to run your very own programme if you wish!
Fundraising & Marketing Volunteers
We are always in need of support with our fundraising and marketing campaigns. If you have confident IT, research and telephone skills and a few hours a week to spare, then do please get in touch for details of our roles. If you can’t commit to a fixed number of hours each week, why not help us to raise essential funds by supporting our fundraising activities? Whether you deliver posters and leaflets, run a stall at garden parties and fetes, or organise a sponsored event of your own, you can help us reach our goal of developing and expanding the support we give to service users, their families and their carers.
See the Fundraising section above for more information about how you can help with fundraising events.
Work Experience Students
Each year we welcome invitations from students who have an interest in health and social care, psychology and general business studies. Whether you are free for just one week or for the summer holidays, please do get in touch. We do receive a lot of applications and places are limited however so we recommend you are in touch well in advance of your availability.
