HELP SHAPE OUR FUTURE – OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR FUNDRAISING TEAM!

Donor Care Fundraiser and Communications Officer

(Both posts are part time around 16-20 hrs a week)

Headway Bristol is a busy, growing charity providing services to brain injury survivors and their families and carers. Every year we are challenged to raise around £200k in funds to help deliver our Day Centre, Community Outreach, Carers & Support and Young Peoples’ services and next year will be no exception.

This year we are very proud to be celebrating our 40th Anniversary and in order to achieve all that we want to do, we have created two brand new roles in our Fundraising Team as below:

Donor Care Fundraiser

This is your opportunity to really shine. We’re looking for an individual who is able to champion our supporter engagement and someone who knows what it takes to develop new channels and innovative approaches to win the support of individuals.

Supporting our Fundraising Manager and working alongside our Community & Events Fundraiser and Communications Officer, you will help create and implement a fundraising strategy and be our ambassador for our all-important donor care. You will take responsibility for developing our contact database, building on existing and prospective donor / supporter relationships and some previous experience of CRM systems ie., Salesforce, would be advantageous. On top of this, you will gather and monitor information to record our outcomes and successes which, in turn, will help you develop tactical plans for future campaigns.

As the Donor Care Fundraiser you will also have responsibility for managing our Charity membership programme and supporting Gift Aid claims and some knowledge and understanding in the latter would be extremely advantageous.

We are looking for a person who is creative, with an eye for detail and someone who can reach out to people from all walks of life through first class verbal and written communications. Confident IT skills are also sought to include MS Office.

Communications Officer

As our ambassador for all Charity marketing and communications, you will have a key role with direct responsibility for the planning and delivery of communications to key groups. You will help identify new donor partners and supporters through effective communications campaigns, events, general marketing and PR, directed at various supporters to include corporates, individual donors, volunteers and staff.

Working closely with the Fundraising Manager, Community & Events and Donor Care fundraisers, you will be responsible for delivering effective fundraising campaigns through the use of social media, website and paper streams. You will also manage a programme of media engagement including media releases and the update and production of marketing materials.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates previous experience in writing, editing, coordinating and publishing content across various channels including our website. Experience of MS Office is required and experience of CRM and design systems such as InDesign, Salesforce and Publisher would be a distinct advantage (although training can be provided).

Responsible for developing our unique Headway Bristol brand, you will be confident liaising with designers, publishers and other suppliers and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.  As part of the team, you will help gather information and data on a regular basis to help support the Charity’s reporting and outcomes.

Salary & Benefits

Both posts are part time, working ideally 18 hours a week between Monday to Friday, but there may be some flexibility around this dependent upon the successful candidates. Flexibility to work over these hours occasionally will, however, be required according to the needs of the role and the Charity ie., to assist with fundraising events and stands.

All our roles are subject to a DBS check, satisfactory references, and an initial 6 month probationary period. Starting salaries will be c£20,000 pa pro rata, dependent upon skills and experience, and rising to £22,500 pa pro rata after successful completion of the probationary period. Our staff receive 25 working days holiday a year, a contributory pension, flexible working, TOIL (time off in lieu) and free parking.
