We are a local charity with a 40-year history of supporting brain injured survivors and their families/carers in and around the Bristol and the surrounding regions.

Whilst we are very fortunate to have a skilled and experienced team of support workers and employed staff in our Day Centre in Frenchay, we would not be able to deliver our services without the assistance of our volunteer team. This year we are looking for people who can spare a few hours each week in the following roles:

Mini-Bus Drivers (training available)

Day Centre Support Assistants & Activity Assistants

Fundraising & Events Assistants

Treasure Hunters, Researchers and Bucket Collectors

Social Media & Content Management/Marketing

As a volunteer at Headway Bristol you will receive an appropriate induction and training to help you settle into your role and we are happy to consider any availability from 9-5pm Monday to Friday.

Whether you are free for a few hours each week indefinitely or can help with the odd project or event, please do get in touch!

We are a local charity experienced in helping survivors of brain injury live as independently as possible.

Our Reablement & Wellbeing Centre in Frenchay is open Mon-Fri (9am-5pm) and we deliver core services from 10am to 3pm.

These services include taking groups out on trips, excursions and local community based activities, health walks and visits to leisure centres and we are now looking for volunteer mini-bus drivers to help us with this programme.

We are looking for drivers who can cover shifts across the 5 days from 9.30am-12pm and 12.30pm-2pm. If you could help us with at least one day shift, two or even three please do get in touch. A full role description is available.

You’ll need to be in good health, a confident driver, qualified to drive a mini-bus or eligible and willing to be trained.   A full clean Driving Licence is required.

To apply, please contact us by email to: for an Application Pack.

Further details of the role can be found here

  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential.
  • Full induction, training and on-going support will be provided as appropriate.
