Future Plans

It is important that we are flexible and adaptable and respond to demand and changing needs.  We therefore carry out regular reviews and seek input and feedback, with the aim that we remain at the forefront of service delivery to those who have had a brain injury, their families and other professionals.

Where appropriate, we may pilot new and innovative services – often funded through our fundraising – with the hope that if they prove successful, funding will be gained to roll these out on a wider scale.

Some services we have highlighted that we would like to deliver are:

  • More support/drop-in sessions (one-to-one and group).
  • Clinics at other venues such as GP surgeries, hospitals etc
  • Transport for service users (access to services and for activities)
  • More outposts across the region – ensuring accessibility of services and increasing capacity.
  • Continue to expand one-to-one outreach provision.
  • Build raised beds and have pathways on our allotment.
  • Create a sensory garden.
  • Provide an Education, Training, Volunteering and Employment Group/Programme for service users
  • Expand our Volunteer and Apprenticeship Programmes
  • Anger Management (one-to-one and group work programme).

  • Couple/Group/family counselling.
  • Family support Group work programme – working in a group with people who are in similar circumstances – sharing information, looking at skills and developing those.  Five main areas covered by the programme would be: Stress, strain, coping, health & well-being.
  • Bereavement support.
  • Complementary Therapies – to aid relaxation, anxiety, stress & sleep.

Headway Bristol needs to raise over £100,000 every year in order to maintain and develop its services. See Fundraising section for more information, or make a donation in one of the following ways.
